MONTREAL, QUEBEC–(Marketwired – Mar 19, 2015) – TELUS Health, Canada’s leading Electronic Medical Records (EMR) provider, today completed its acquisition of Medesync, a certified EMR product, which will bring a web-based interface to TELUS’ EMR portfolio in Quebec. Medesync uses the latest cloud-based and mobile technologies to bring physicians anywhere, anytime, access to EMRs from any computer or mobile device.
Medesync’s EMR technology features a number of tools for managing and accessing all aspects of a clinic’s operations, including scheduling, clinical encounters, prescribing, billing and electronic lab results. Additionally, it provides strong reporting capabilities and dashboards to assist medical professionals and clinical staff with at-a-glance access to key information. The solution addresses both the needs of general practitioners and specialists.
“With the acquisition of the Medesync product, TELUS Health is further strengthening its EMR offering by providing a robust, bilingual web-based solution that is well-regarded for its ease of use and accessibility by physicians from any computer or mobile device,” said Paul Lepage, President, TELUS Health. “Not only is this becoming increasingly important and in demand, it will also strengthen EMR adoption in Quebec and play a meaningful role in increasing collaboration between healthcare professionals to drive better health outcomes for patients.”
The agreement includes the transition of Medesync employees and expertise to TELUS Health, which will allow TELUS to provide Medesync customers with consistent service.
